Lead Scientist

Rocío started off in RTLGenomics as Research Technician and has been part of the company since 2014. She obtained her B.S. in Biological Pharmaceutical Chemistry and her M.S. in Biochemical Sciences from the Faculty of Chemistry of the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM) in Mexico City, where she is originally from. Today, Rocío is our lead scientist for amplicon sequencing orders. From checking in samples to getting them sequenced, Rocío is in charge of every Ion Torrent PGM and Illumina MiSeq sequencing order, from the moment the samples are checked in to the day they are sequenced. She participates in every step of this process and monitors all of the steps to ensure accurate, reliable results. She also serves as a point of contact for specific order information and sample troubleshooting; you can contact her either in English or Spanish.
